MirrorCue — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 29 June 2026 Last updated: 10 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MirrorCue (“the app”, “we”, “us”), provided by Valentina Farcasanu, handles your information.
The short version
MirrorCue is local-first. Your routines, history, products, ingredient tags, skin logs, and photos are stored on your device. We do not run servers that collect your data, we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your personal information. There are no accounts and no login.
Information stored on your device
Everything you create in the app stays on your device (in the app’s protected storage), including:
- Routines, schedules, and completion history
- Products and the ingredients you tag, including any photos of products or labels
- Skin logs (your daily rating and notes)
- Progress photos (stored with file protection)
We do not have access to any of this. You can export all of it at any time (Settings → Export All Data) as a file you control, and you can delete the app to remove it.
Apple services the app can use
When you enable them, the app uses certain Apple system services. In each case your data is processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy terms, not sent to us:
- iCloud sync (optional). If iCloud sync is enabled, your MirrorCue data is synced through your private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit so it can appear on your other devices. It is stored in your iCloud, not on our servers, and we cannot read it.
- Health (HealthKit) — read only, optional. With your permission, the app reads recent sleep, water intake, active energy, and menstrual-cycle information to tailor a daily skin-care suggestion. This is read on your device, is never written back to Health, and is never uploaded. You can deny or revoke this in iOS Settings; the app works without it.
- Weather & Location (optional). With your permission, your approximate location is used to fetch a local UV/weather tip via Apple WeatherKit. We do not store or share your location; the app works without it.
- Camera & Photos. Used to capture progress photos and to scan ingredient labels. Progress photos are ordinary images — which you may point at your face or at any area you’re tracking (hands, neck, and so on) — stored locally with file protection and not uploaded. Label text recognition and the optional photo-to-photo change comparison run on your device (Apple Vision); the comparison uses a generic image-similarity measure, not face detection or facial geometry.
- On-device AI. Optional features (e.g. rewording a coaching tip, describing an unrecognized ingredient) use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models. The text involved is processed on your device and is not sent to us or any third party.
Face and biometric data
MirrorCue does not use face detection, face recognition, facial landmarks, face geometry, Face ID, or any TrueDepth/depth or biometric data, and it does not collect, generate, store, or share any face data. Progress photos are ordinary photographs kept on your device (and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud that only you can access); nothing in the app identifies a person or maps a face. The only automated image processing is on-device and non-biometric: reading ingredient text from label photos, and computing a generic visual-similarity score between two of your own progress photos so the app can indicate how much has changed over time.
Purchases
In-app purchases and any subscription are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your payment details. See Apple’s Privacy Policy for how Apple handles that information.
Information we collect
None on our own servers. We do not operate a backend that receives your personal data. We do not use third-party analytics, attribution, or advertising.
If you contact us at the address below, we will have whatever information you choose to include in your message, used only to respond to you.
Children
MirrorCue is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
- Grant or revoke Camera, Photos, Health, Location, and Notifications permissions anytime in iOS Settings.
- Turn iCloud sync on or off via your device’s iCloud settings.
- Export your data, or delete the app to remove all on-device data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, surfaced in the app.
