Frequently asked questions

How do I create or edit a routine?

Open the Routines tab and tap New Routine. Give it a name, choose Day or Night, set a schedule (daily, every few days or weeks, specific weekdays, skin-cycling, or an alternating rotation), and add your steps. To edit later, tap the routine, then Edit.

Can one routine cover more than my face?

Yes. In the editor, use Add Body-Area Section to group steps by area — face, neck, hands, feet, and more. On the Today screen, only the areas that have steps appear, so a single morning or evening routine stays tidy.

How do progress photos work?

In the Diary tab, capture or import a front, left, and right photo. A faint “ghost” of your previous photo helps you line up the framing, and you can crop and straighten before saving. Use Compare to see a before/after slider or a side-by-side view.

How do I delete a photo?

Long-press a photo in the Diary (a Today slot or a day’s detail) and choose Delete Photo, or swipe a day in History to remove it. Deleting a photo removes it from your device permanently.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your routines, products, skin logs, and photos are stored on your device. MirrorCue reads Health data read-only and never writes back to Health, and nothing is uploaded to any server. Photos are protected with on-device file protection.

How do I sync between my iPhone and iPad?

Sign in to iCloud on both devices with the same Apple Account and keep iCloud enabled for MirrorCue. Your data then syncs privately through your own iCloud — it never passes through us.

The UV reading shows “—” or “OFF”. How do I fix it?

The UV tip needs Location access. Open Settings → MirrorCue and allow location “While Using the App.” MirrorCue works fully without it — UV is an optional daily tip.

How do I export or back up my data?

Go to Settings → Your Data → Export. You’ll get a single file containing all your routines, history, products, skin logs, and photos that you can save or share.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?

Open the unlock screen and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought MirrorCue with. The lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

Does MirrorCue give medical advice?

No. MirrorCue is an organizational and informational tool — ingredient notes, layering tips, and skin-coach suggestions are general information to help you make your own choices. It is not medical advice or a diagnosis. Always read product labels, patch-test new products, and see a dermatologist for any skin concern.
